Located in Lawrenceburg Kentucky
Lawrenceburg is a small town in central Kentucky. Compared to a Mayberry type of town, everyone waves as you pass and everyone knows everyone. Made famous by being the home of Wild Turkey Distilleries and being the only town in the nation that produces a newspaper with pictures of those convicted of DUI locally. How ironic!!! We pride ourselves however in keeping life simple and enjoying the down home feeling you get when you drive down our small towns Main Street. Once there you will find clusters of Antique shops, churches, craft stores, and the center attraction of the Court House. Warm welcomes are always found here, as well as someone willing to sit awhile and chat about all the big happenings going on. When there is nothing "big" to talk about, someone can usually embellish a story of how they managed to get their tractor stuck, or how bad the weather is bound to be since the corn didn't grow in the right direction last year. Either way, there is always feeling of belonging after just being here a little while. No hotels line our streets, but a few bed and breakfasts can be found to snuggle up after a day of searching through all the Antiques and Crafts. Only 30 minutes away, at most, from Lexington and 15 from Frankfort, the hustle and bustle of the big city is left behind when you come to Lawrenceburg, and you'll find that beyond Main Street the busiest place in town is the Wal-Mart shopping center where what is surely the worlds smallest Wal-Mart is located. Not much bigger that the shoe department of a super Wal-Mart it serves it's purpose and keeps us happy. You can imagine in the richness of all the happenings of small Lawrenceburg how someone can fall into the time filling craft of quilting. If you find yourself winding down U.S. 127 don't forget to wind into our little town for a peak, but be careful, you just may never want to leave. |

Getting it all together
Trying to build a website, when you struggle with how to open your email hasn't been easy. But we're on our way now. We are hoping to open a shop in the next year, and are working on inventory now!!
Lorissa, Gayle, Jackie & Lesley
Jackie has been sewing for more years than I'm allowed to mention. She has 4 children 2 boys and 2 girls, and 4 grandchildren. She is the wife of a wonderful man who not only farms, but spends his days driving a school bus, shuffling kids back and forth from school all over the country side during the school year. Being the quite sort, Jackie does most of the talking for the two, but you will find it rare to see one without the other. Dedicated to each other, they are one anothers biggest fans. And through his silent strength she is willing to tackle anything. Country living is the only way for Jackie, and although she carries on a succesful career outside of the farm, if she had her way she would give it all up to her love of the country and quilting. She puts her heart into her creations and although giving them up is hard, seeing the joy they bring to others makes it worthwhile.
Lorissa has been sewing for about 12 years beginning with her first child she stumbled through learning to make baby clothes. She has 2 girls that take a lot of her time and a wonderful husband who inspires and motivates her everyday. Jackie & Lorissa although officially cousins have been very close and with the death of Lorissa's mother early in life Jackie played a big part in raising Lorissa too. So being somewhat adopted by Jackie , Lorissa gets a lot of support and inspiration from her. Lorissa can best be described as outspoken, opinionated, but loyal and willing to help anyone. Putting so much of herself into her quilting she fears only that when someone takes one of her quilts home they will not love it as much as she does. Fun loving and always ready to laugh, she will keep you in stitches.
Lesley is Jackie's daughter, the middle child. She has a son, and is thinking about adding more, maybe in the future. Growing up together and getting in trouble together has made Lorissa and Lesley very close. Lesley is definately the more hip of the three. She is also the most likely to make you laugh. Always coming off with something crazy and ALWAYS willing to do the crazy colors in the quilts, she keeps everything VERY interesting. Put her with Lorissa and it's a wonder Jackie still has hair. But, they all come together and keep the other ticking. Lesley is devoted to her garden, and remodeling her home, and of course going through her closet to find just that right piece of material for her newest invention. With Lesley's artistic values, you can bet you will see her come up with some great new designs to keep us all challenged and intrigued.
